Presentation Title: Recent Advances in the Development and Industrialization of Niobium-Titanium Oxide Batteries

Abstract: 

     With the growing demand for safer, fast-charging, high-energy-density, and long-life lithium-ion batteries in applications such as rail transit, industrial vehicles, and energy storage systems, niobium-titanium oxide (NTO) batteries have emerged as a promising next-generation battery technology. This presentation introduces the latest development progress of NTO batteries, covering advances in anode materials, cell development, and performance optimization. The unique advantages of NTO technology, including high power capability, enhanced energy density, excellent safety, long cycle life, and wide-temperature operation, will be highlighted, together with recent achievements in rate performance, application validation, and product development. In addition, the presentation will discuss the opportunities and challenges in advancing NTO batteries toward industrialization and explore their future application prospects in rail transit, industrial vehicles, and energy storage systems.

Biography: 

      Dr. Zhuoqun Zheng holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and currently serves as a Director of Yongxing Materials Co., Ltd., a publicly listed company, and General Manager of Huzhou Yongxing Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. Since 2007, he has been engaged in the research and development, manufacturing, and executive management of lithium-ion batteries. He has been granted, or has filed applications for, more than 60 patents. Dr. Zheng has dedicated over 15 years to the research and development of lithium titanate (LTO) batteries and is recognized as one of the earliest pioneers in China to develop LTO materials and battery products. He has led his team in successfully advancing the large-scale commercial deployment of LTO battery technologies in both domestic and international markets.
